CK12 & Khan Academy - Distance Learning Tools & Integrating with Google Classroom

CK-12 Questions
  • How can I assign and check student work in Google Classroom using CK-12?
    • Teachers: To see how to create an assignment and to check student work click here.
    • Students should follow these steps to complete assignments and submit to Google Classroom.
    • Please share this link with your students to get their results in Google Classroom.

Khan-Academy Questions
  • How can I use Khan Academy with remote learning?
    • You can check out their blog here for ideas, resources, and guides. They’ve published a Quick Start Guide and video to help teachers get started.
    • Khan Academy has even produced their own “Remote Learning FAQ” (aimed for parents) you can access here.
  • Is there a way to schedule a Khan Academy assignment?
    • It is a little tricky scheduling assignment. You can find Khan-Academy’s answer about integrating with Google Classroom by clicking here.
    • You can't really use the options discussed in the above link if you are going through courses already assigned. In other words, if you go to your teacher dashboard, you will see the course and all its component lessons waiting to be assigned on the right. However, if you simply SEARCH for the topic in Khan Academy, the page will come up with options to share via Google Classroom. If you select that means of sharing, Khan will integrate with Classroom and allow you to create an assignment, questions, etc, which you can then schedule for a later post (as we do now with any Google Classroom assignment, question, etc.) Check out the screen shot--
  • If you are looking for additional practice to help students achieve mastery, you can set up course challenges that students work at their own pace. Pat M. does this in English. I assign the entire grammar course on Khan and provide the students with checkpoints [I call them "Khan-Quests"] to help pace students. You can be creative in how you share the mastery challenges. You can find more info on Mastery and Khan Academy here.
